Studies at the Intersection of Philosophy and Economics

Author Guidelines

1. Select the following parameters for your file:
a. paper size: A4
b. line spacing: single
c. margins (top, bottom, left, right): 3 cm
d. font size: footnotes 10 pt, everything else 12 pt
LaTeX users: Select the A4 option but otherwise use LaTeXʼs default options.

2. There are no special requirements for the title page(s).
However, make sure that the abstract, the keywords, and the full addresses of all authors (with institutional affiliations and email addresses) are included.

3. Keep footnotes to a minimum and number them consecutively with superscript arabic numerals.
Acknowledgments, grant information and the like can be provided in a first footnote to the title. For this footnote, which should not be included in the consecutive numbering, the footnote sign should be an asterisk.

4. Provide titles for figures and tables.

5. Math symbols should be in italics, no matter where they appear.

6. All displayed formulas, equations etc. should be numbered consecutively.

7. For references in the text or in footnotes, use the author-date style:
“Buchanan (1975) argues …”. For page references, include page numbers after the date and a comma: “Buchanan (1975, 23-24) argues …”
Similarly: “It has been argued that … (see, e.g., Buchanan 1975, 23-24).”

8. Provide a complete list of references at the end of the paper.
References should be listed in alphabetical order and in descending order of date. Concerning style and punctuation, follow the examples below. For unpublished lectures or symposia, include the title of the paper, name of the sponsoring society in full and the date.
